My Services < Custom Merch
Currently, I can create almost anything you can imagine, from seamless patterns to illustrations on any kind of merchandise you can think of. I’m here to help turn your ideas into reality! As a multi-disciplinary artist, I am experienced in both illustrative and painterly styles. In terms of merchandise I’ve worked on, I have created artwork for bandanas, stickers, postcards, greeting cards, and art prints. I also have connections with some great manufacturers I can recommend, but if you prefer to use your own, that’s perfectly fine! I’m also eager to design merchandise I haven’t worked on before, such as shirts, hats, keychains, and more. Whatever you can think of, I want to help you bring it to life.
What kind of Merch designs can you create?
A seamless pattern offers many possibilities! You can choose to buy a license for one of my pre-existing patterns, or you might want me to create a custom design just for you. For that, you can select a temporary license to use on items like blankets, shirts, water bottles, and more. If you love the pattern and want to use it endlessly, there's also the option to purchase a perpetual license or even copyright. The possibilities are endless!
What can I do with a seamless pattern?
I can’t give a straightforward answer to this question, as it all depends on how complex your creative vision is. But I can give you some loose examples.
For a more simplistic illustration in black and white (like the plant design on the left), the flat fee would be about $65. This flat fee includes time and labor. If you were to ask for revisions after completion, about an extra $10 would be added on top of the flat fee (This doesn’t include the license. I go into more detail on licensing further below on this page).
Now, let’s say you want a more painterly design, in color, and turned into a seamless pattern. Depending on the complexity, the flat fee can be anywhere from $85 to $250. If you decided that you wanted revisions after completion, it could cost about $25 to $40 on top of the flat fee.
Please keep in mind that a final version will not be worked on until you view and approve thumbnails (sketches) of the design beforehand, which will help to prevent any need for revisions.
What are your rates?
We will have a consultation to discuss your needs: art style, product ideas, budget, etc. Once we have gone over the details, I will be sending you a contract, which, once signed by us both, I will be sending the first invoice via email. This invoice will be a deposit of 25% of the agreed-upon flat fee. This invoice will be due at your earliest convenience. Once this first payment is sent to me, is when I will begin the project. The remaining amount of the flat fee will be due upon completion of the design. Any revision fees will be due at the time of your revision request. In the case of cancellation of your project for any reason, I will retain the deposit. If I have to cancel for any reason, the deposit, on top of any other fees, will be returned to you in full.
What to expect
Various licensing options are available, depending on your needs. Factors include the duration of usage rights, the number of products you plan to create, whether you prefer paying royalties instead of a flat fee, and whether you want exclusive use of the design. The options are tailored to what suits your situation best. A one-year license typically ranges from about $100 to $650+ annually. For indefinite ownership of the copyright, costs can range from about $2,000 to $6,000+, depending on whether you seek local or worldwide rights and whether you want full copyright ownership or a perpetual license with specific terms.
If you have a design in mind, please don’t be scared to reach out to me. It costs nothing to connect with me to inquire about costs. I want to do everything I can to bring your creative dreams to reality.
Do you offer consignment rather than licenses? (i dont think it’s called that)
